Non Surgical Facial Treatments

At Glenhaven Dental Care we are delighted to offer a range of facial cosmetic treatments to help refresh and reinvigorate your appearance. The rejuvenation techniques include wrinkle reduction using Botulinum Toxin and skin augmentation using dermal fillers.

The use of Botulinum Toxin is probably one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the UK. The treatment is a non-surgical, simple procedure that smoothes and
softens lines and wrinkles.

At Glenhaven Dental Care facial aesthetic treatments are performed by our highly skilled qualified dental surgeons:
Dr Colin Griffiths BDS (Wales) DPDS, MFGDP.RCS.UK
Dr Lara Griffiths BDS (Hons) Wales

Colin and Lara trained with the ‘Internationally renowned’ Professor Bob Khanna and later studied at The Royal College of Surgeons, London where they both achieved ‘distinction’ in
‘FGDP (UK) Masterclass in Facial Aesthetics’

The Practice is fully insured for facial aesthetics treatments by Hamilton Fraser®.

By relaxing the muscles under the skin, facial lines will
diminish or disappear.

At our stylish Rejuvenate Clinic incorporated within Glenhaven Dental Care we offer free consultations where we discuss your facial aesthetics treatment options.

Your safety and suitability for any procedure is of paramount importance. Therefore, at your consultation we will discuss your medical history, any medication, the risks and benefits of your chosen treatment and costs.

You are then given plenty of time to consider whether this style of treatment is right for you. We use before and after photos so you can evaluate your progress and improvements using facial aesthetics treatment.

After a suitable period, we then arrange a further appointment with either Dr Colin Griffiths or Dr Lara Griffiths to perform the treatment you request.

We keep in contact with you to monitor your progress

Treatments using Botulinum Toxin (Botox®)…

Botox® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe wrinkles…

Forehead and Frown Lines

One of the most effective ways to improve your appearance to make you feel and look younger. This procedure can reduce those tell-tale lines and wrinkles that can make you appear worried, angry or stressed.

Crows Feet

Crows feet or Laughter lines can make you look tired and troubled. However injecting small amounts of Botulinum Toxin around the eye area can help you look fresh and youthful.

Botulinum Toxin can also reduce jowls, improve your smile and even lift your eyebrows

Botulinum Toxin can also be used very effectively to reduce excessive sweating in the underarm area, increasing your confidence for those important moments.

Treatments using Dermal Fillers…

As our Skin Ages it gradually loses its major constituents: Collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic Acid. Collagen acts as the major support protein for our skin, elastin allows our skin to stay firm and resist wrinkles and hyaluronic Acid helps to trap water and volume and shape to our skin. The loss of these constituents produces changes in our skin and together with other factors like genetics, sun exposure, alcohol and smoking increases the likelihood of our skin developing lines and wrinkles.

Dermal Fillers can be used to replace the loss of some of these elements in the skin. Dermal fillers are injected just below the skin and are being used more and more to help reverse the changes associated with aging and provide a more youthful look. Dermal fillers can be used to soften and contour lines, folds and wrinkles. Dermal fillers also mimic the hydrating and lifting effect of your skins natural hyaluronic acid which keeps the skin hydrated and elastic. This effect of the Dermal fillers in the skin helps to fill and smooth away facial lines, other skin contour deficiencies and helps replace lost volume.

The areas most commonly treated with Dermal fillers to provide a more youthful look;
• The nose to mouth lines (nasolabial fold)
• Lines around the mouth (perioral lines and oral commissure)
• Natural lip enhancement and definition of the border

Dermal filler treatment is carried out with products containing anaesthetic so you should not experience pain during the procedure. When the anaesthetic wears off however, you may experience a dull ache for the first few hours or days and you would be advised to take regular paracetamol during this period.

After the treatment the area may be red or swollen. The effects of the swelling can take up to a week to resolve although the majority should start to alleviate within a couple of days.

As we get older the lips lose volume, therefore enhancing the shape and fullness of the lips can subtly alter your appearance giving you more confidence. Lips can be simply defined or have different levels of volume enhancement.

Nose to Mouth Lines/Corner of Lip to Chin Line

This area is particularly prone to creasing as we get older. Softening these creases can instantly rejuvenate your appearance.
